I’ve been writing in this blog for the past 3 years. I have noticed that there has been progression and a change in quality of my writing. I didn’t mean for it to turn into a personal, yet public journal for everyone to see, but I’d like to keep it as an archive regarding my growth along these years.
2023
I was hell-bent on articulating my beliefs regarding an
esoteric reality. You can bet that I’m still in search of the Philosopher’s
Stone, though. To this day, I still hold on to the notion of a tripartite
metaphysical system. During this time, I was ambitiously trying to develop and
consolidate my philosophical beliefs. Much of it was symbolic language involving
the topics of suffering, agency, God, meaning, and human connection.
Late 2023 to mid-2024
My writing became shorter and more cryptic. I wrote about
trusting only oneself, conflicting realities, social conditioning, lost love,
personas, and the tension between the social self and what I understood as the
true self. I also discuss artificial intelligence, smartphone use, doomscrolling,
being technologically competent, and doing what you enjoy.
I apologize for the secrecy of certain concepts, i.e. use
of initials and coded values, because they're too dear to my heart to share openly
with the world, at least for now.
August through November 2024
This is where the posts become concrete and embodied. I begin
to write about everyday things in my life. I also divulge my cooccurring condition.
It also provides context for some earlier posts and their tendency toward
unusual, fragmented, or reality-distorted thinking. It’s also when I chose
sobriety—and began choosing it again every day.
December 2024 through May 2025
The posts continue to become more grounded. I reflect on relationships, medication, school, aging, friendship, anhedonia, reading, games, music equipment, driving, and one of my favorites: ramen. This is when I started to find joy in the little things again. It was the beginning of my return to ordinary life.
2026
Things continue to improve, including my overall sense of
peace and happiness. Two years of showing up for school, taking my medications,
and staying sober helped me tremendously these past few years. I’m suffering
significantly less. Cognitive distortions and delusions have drastically improved.
Conclusion
My voice in these posts is honest and sincere. I meant what
I said during the moment these posts were made available. Many of my entries
may be confusing when taken out of context but might be easier to understand if
read chronologically.
“On Achieving Peace and Happiness” is my clearest early philosophical
essay. I recommend reading that out if you get the chance.
I still love discussing profound wisdom and exchanging both knowledge
and truth. Perhaps in the future I’ll use this space to explore philosophical
ideas I encounter both in and outside university. You can expect more
conversations about metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and whatever else
catches my attention.
